In the first episode of True Blood Season 3 we got to see 2 super fine butts: Eric’s and Jason’s.
But first, a recap of last season’s cliffhanger:
Last season ended with Bill disappearing after Sookie comes to the decision to accept his marriage proposal. You saw two hands wrap a silver chain around his neck and he’s dragged off . . . and the police couldn’t care less. Sam hunts for his missing family, the Mickens, while Jason freaks out over the fact that he murdered Eggs. Poor Eggs, he finally realized he was a murderer who ripped people’s hearts out for his mistress. Andy is taking credit for Eggs’ death and Jason has got to support him – something Jason is not taking to well.
Fast forward to Season 3 Episode 1: Pack of Wolves
Tara totally loses it about Eggs’s death, screaming at everyone – thank goodness she has Lafayette, he takes her away from the bloody scene. Andy tells Jason he’s got to act normal – “conscience off, dick on” – so no one suspects how Eggs was killed.
Conscience off, dick on . . . what a great line.
Bill is stuck in the backseat of a car, silver chain holding him in place, by four nasty looking men. Asking them who they are, they tell him, “we’re the fuck-you club.” That does not sound good for Bill’s future. Jessica has dragged a dying young man home, trying to save him but he dies anyway. Looks like she’s not to good at this vampire thing yet, you’re not supposed to kill them.
Sookie has gone to confront Eric about Bill, telling Pam ‘I have no time for lesbian weirdness’ when Pam compliments her dress. She is looking for help and she gets quite the eyeful (probably more than an eyeful) as Eric is coitus interruptus when she bursts into his little playroom in the basement. Butt Shot #1: Eric parades around naked as he chastises Pam for letting Sookie in – to which Pam responds in that sultry voice, “what can I say, she overpowered me” – you gotta love Pam’s droll sense of humor. This is quite the scene as Sookie works to keep her eyes above waist level. Sookie leaves and we find out that Eric and the Queen have apparently ordered Bill kidnapped in order to remove the one person who knew that the two of them dealt V.
One of the weirdest scenes was Sam’s dream sequence between Bill and Sam where they are about to seriously make out – Bill invites Sam into the shower and they are going to kiss when Sam wakes up. This whole sequence was to bizarre – why would Sam dream about Bill? When did Sam get Bill’s blood?
Back in the real world (ha, ha), the FU gang is sucking Bill dry – getting super high on his V. All of them are wasted, giving Bill the opportunity to kill the driver and escape. Bill ends up at an old woman’s house. You’re sure he’s about to rip her throat out since he’s starving but Bill’s inherently courteous nature lets him feed while saving the old woman’s life, actually leaving her some money in thanks.
Butt Shot #2: Jason is doing his duty – conscience off, dick on – with two women he has picked up at Merlotte’s. He tells Hoyt that as his housemate, he will have to learn with pussy overflow – yet another quaint turn of phrase. Unfortunately, all his male libido does him no good. Good old Jason, he tells them, “evertime I look at you I just see these big ole bullet holes in your heads” and boom, those girls are out of there.
Tara looks totally lost after hours of being prayed over by her mom and the reverend so she ends up popping bottles of pills in the bathroom. I’m not sure she’ll recover from Eggs’ loss.
Bill leaves the old woman’s house, renewed and refreshed, as you hear wolves howling in the distance. The debut episode of True Blood Season 3 ends with Bill in the woods, surrounded by a pack of wolves. He launches himself at them as the credits come on. I hope we meet the werewolves next week. This looks good!
