With her knack for being in trouble’s way, Sookie witnesses the firebombing of Merlotte’s, the bar where she works. Since Sam Merlotte is now known to be two-natured, suspicion falls immediately on the anti-shifters in the area. Sookie suspects otherwise, but her attention is divided when she realizes that her lover Eric Northman and his “child” Pam are plotting to kill the vampire who is now their master. True_Blood_Season4_Episode_12Last week ended with a surprise from Marnie who will not stop even in death. She possesses Lafayette and this week, she takes Jesus hostage to steal his demon magic. Sookie and Tara are trying to relax at home but, invariably, dark thoughts creep in as Sookie sees visions of her dead grandmother.

Tommy’s funeral is sad but surprisingly, Mrs. Fortenberry shows up and then Luna and Emma. Sam feels a little relieved to find that Luna cares that much for his feelings. It is hard to tell what Jason is going to do but confessing everything to Hoyt was the last thing on my mind and Jason gets a beat down from his former best friends for his trouble.

Marnie performs a spell to take Jesus’ magic which in the end has her stabbing Jesus to death as the demon transfers to her. Lafayette is going to feel really bad if he ever gets out of this. At Merlotte’s, it is interesting to watch the True Blood writers trying to set up next season with a new friend of Terry’s showing up at Merlotte’s out of the blue. His name his Sgt. Patrick Devin and apparently Terry saved his life a couple of times during the war. Arlene gets a visit from the ghost of her husband, Rene, during a smoke break and he warns her that Terry is bringing trouble to everyone and she better run.

Sookie is rehired by Sam as all of this is going but she has to wear bunny ears to support the Halloween theme. She finds Alcide sitting at the bar depressed. He tells her that he and Debbie are finished for good and maybe she needs to be thinking about her choice in “men” and look for someone non-vampire who can really take care of her. It’s strongly inferred that the somebody is him.

Sookie goes outside after her discussion with Alcide to relax and finds Holly puffing on a joint. Tara pulls up in her usual panic mode to tell them Jesus is dead and Marnie is on the warpath for the vampires again, only this time she’s inside Lafayette’s body. Holly tells them she has her emergency wiccan kit – salt, sage, and hair. They all jump in the car to save the vampires, leaving the only person who really works at Merlottes, Arlene, to mind the store.

They arrive to find Bill and Eric tied to a pyre for burning. Marnie is yelling her usual “oh poor me, my life is so hard” stuff which gives Holly time to put a circle of salt around the whole area. Marnie lights the pyre and as Bill and Eric begin to cook, Sookie uses her powers to stop Marnie and the three witches make a circle and begin chanting. Spirits begin to move from everywhere toward the scene as the chanting continues. Gran and Antonia both arrive and Gran pulls Marnie out of Lafayette while Antonia takes Marnie away. Lafayette ends up recovering at home, wallowing in guilt when Jesus shows up to tell him everything is okay and they will always be together.

Jason still smarting from Hoyt’s beat down but he wastes no time in getting into Jessica when she shows up at the door. He is a bit taken aback though when she says she does not want a relationship, she is only interested in sex – he thought that was always his line.

Sookie is back at Bill’s house feeding her blood to both Eric and Bill to get them back to strength only to knock them down again. She tells them that she may love them both but it is way to hard to live this way. She says goodbye to both Bill and Eric as she leaves with her head held high – at least until she gets outside and starts to cry.

Pam is grieving for Eric but she will be ecstatic to hear that Sookie dumped him so things might be looking up for her in the next season. The same goes for Sookie. Can she get over the vampire duo for a little doggie style with a wolf? Not sure since this Season 4 ends with Sookie killing Debbie Pelt after Debbie shot Tara. How will Alcide handle that?

True_Blood_Season4_Episode_10True Blood opens with Eric and Bill fighting to the death amidst all the blood and guts that are left of the Tolerance Festival that Nan arranged to improve the vampire’s image with the public. I guess that’s not likely to improve now that a lot of the general public have been slaughtered. Eric’s about to stake Bill when Sookie flashes her fairy blast at them and it breaks Antonia’s spell, releasing Eric and bringing back all his memories. He looks at Sookie with old Eric’s eyes along with new Eric’s memories…things won’t be the same again.

Antonia is shocked that her initiative to kill the vampires has not turned out as she planned. She did not want to kill innocent people and she looks appalled then she and Roy vanish. They return to the Moon Goddess with their two vampire drones. Antonia fights Marnie, trying to leave her body because she’s disgusted with the death. She leaves and confronts Marnie about her tactics. Marnie appeals to her desire for revenge against the vampires and Antonia goes back to her host. Meanwhile, Holly and Tara scheme to cast a spell to let them leave the building.

Eric talks to Sookie and tells her that nothing has changed. She tells him that she realizes that when he was about to stake Bill, she knew that she could not live in a world that didn’t have Bill in it. She loves both of them. Eric looks taken aback, he doesn’t know what to do with that information. He wants it to go back to the way it was between the two of them.

Alcide saved Tommy from Marcus and his scummy friends but he’s dying – changing into Sam has messed him up inside. Sam vows revenge for his brother’s death and he and Alcide head over to the motorcycle shop to find Marcus. They end up interrogating one of the creeps who killed Tommy. Luna bursts in freaking out because Marcus took Emma. Just then, Luna’s phone rings and it’s Emma calling her mom. Alcide sees that the call is coming from his own house.

Arlene and Terry find a bottle of V that Andy was using and they are appalled that he has this drug in the house around their children. Terry decides to take matters into his own hands and he makes Andy go out to the woods with him. He tells Andy that he’s got to clean up his act and get off the drugs. Andy fights it, saying he’s not an addict, but Terry’s tactics eventually cause Andy to break down and admit his addiction.

Jason and Sookie go with Lafayette and Jesus to the emporium. Jesus wants to save Marnie because he thinks she is being held hostage by Antonia’s spirit. Little does he know that it’s Marnie who is the hostage taker. Jesus approaches the protective barrier that Antonia has erected and pulls on his ancient brujo lineage to force his way through it. She is pleased that he has made it through and wants to join them.

Holly and Tara’s scheme works and they are able to escape the building and they make a run for it. Jason, Sookie and Lafayette run toward them as Marnie comes up behind, trying to stop them. She catches them and transports Holly, Tara, Sookie, and Lafayette back into the emporium. Jason is left standing, staring at the empty street.

Bill, Eric, Pam, Jessica, and Nan cover themselves in silver chains again in case Antonia casts another spell during the day to force them into the sun. That night, when they get up, they all dress in black, arm themselves to the teeth, and drive over to the Moon Goddess. They look prepared for war as they climb out of their van and march into the street, ready to take on some necromancers.

True Blood Season 4 Ep 9: Run

True_Blood_Season4_Episode_9Alcide is racing to get Sookie some help when she’s ripped from his arms by Bill who tries to give her his blood but she’s not taking it. Can True Blood exist without Sookie? Nope. And so Sookie wakes up to Bill and Alcide looking at her. Her first question is “where’s Eric?” and you can see Bill withdraw. Alcide leaves in a huff, he can’t believe she’s still worried about the vampires after she almost died.

Eric is at Antonia’s beck and call as she orders him to wash the blood off his face. He’s completely under her spell. Tara challenges Antonia’s dictatorship when she learns of her plans to take Eric with her to the Festival of Tolerance to show everyone how vampires really treat people – like Russell did.

Sam and Luna take off to have a family camping experience and avoid her harassing husband. Luna thinks it’s running away from her problems but Sam says it’s just camping. While they are out having family time, Marcus shows up at Merlotte’s and talks to Tommy, issuing a challenge to Sam. Tommy gives him a lot of attitude. So when Tommy shows up at Marcus’ place in Sam’s body, his mouthy attitude gets him severely beat up. One final kick turns him from Sam back into Tommy and Marcus is shocked. Alcide jumps in and forces them all away from him.

Debbie is sitting in bed crying and watching the Cheaters show as she waits for Alcide to come home. When he does, he undresses and climbs into bed. Whoa – a back butt shot of Alcide crossing the room sans clothes. It does not get much better than that.

Hoyt wakes up from a major bender and packs up all of Jessica’s things. You even see him put a copy of Twilight in there – cute. He writes on the side of the box, “for you, Monster”. Then Lafayette comes into his house carrying baby Mikey and Hoyt challenges him on why he has Arlene’s baby to which Lafayette points a gun at him and tells him to get out of the house.

Sookie wakes up on the couch and opens the door to Eric who is visiting her in the daytime. As they start to go at it on the table, Bill is standing there. Apparently she is dreaming about both of them and they almost begin to fight over her but they stop when she commands it – after all, it’s her dream. Yummy, I’d like to have that dream.

Sookie stands there lecturing them, telling them she loves them both. She belongs to neither vampire, and she refuses to choose. She starts to undress and says she has to either be with both of them or with no one at all. And it looks like she will get her wish as the threesome progresses. Unfortunately, she wakes up from her dream looking confused.

Jason and Andy show up at Hoyt’s house and Lafayette starts shooting at them. They keep calling her Lafayette and she tells them her name is Mavis. Jesus comes on the scene, summoned by Arlene. He talks to the ghost who is inhabiting Lafayette’s body and she tells him her story. She hands the baby over and they go to dig up her grave. They dig up the skeletons of both the mother and the baby. Jesus talks the ghost out of Lafayette and she and her baby leave together. Everybody is touched.

Hoyt gives Jason the Monster box to take to Jessica at vampire Bill’s house. When he delivers it, Jessica asks him to come in and he says no, but he’s having a hard time leaving. And the two of them end up having sex in the back of his truck.

Debbie is turning back to V and she downs the whole bottle in one swallow as the dealer looks on. Next you see her visiting Antonia, pledging the werewolf pack’s allegiance to the witch’s cause. Sookie sneaks into the basement of the emporium to listen to Antonia and Debbie talk about their hatred of vampires. She enters one room and finds Eric standing there like a statue. Eric won’t move and the witches discover Sookie. Tara is holding a gun on her and gives her code telling her to read her mind which is to attack her and escape, which she does. She and Debbie take off for the Festival of Tolerance to warn Bill.

Bill and Nan are waiting for their turn to speak at the Festival of Tolerance. Outside the rally, Eric tricks the other vampire sheriffs into following him and Antonia forces them under her power. Eric and Antonia are standing in the wings while Bill speaks and just as Sookie rushes in to warn them, all the vampires under Antoinia’s control start to kill everyone. Sookie screams “run” at Bill as Eric flies through the air to kill him. It looks like she might not get to realize that menage-a-trois after all.
